All iTrustWeb VPS plans use KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine). Unlike OpenVZ, KVM provides full hardware emulation — you get your own dedicated kernel, can run any OS, and resource allocations are guaranteed rather than shared across neighbours. This makes KVM significantly more flexible and performance-consistent.
Yes. You can upgrade your VPS plan any time from the client area. Upgrades are applied instantly (a brief reboot is required). We prorate any billing difference, so you only pay for what you use.
Standard VPS plans are unmanaged — you have full root access and are responsible for the OS. Managed add-ons (OS patching, control panel installation, security hardening) are available at an additional monthly fee. Contact support to add managed services to any plan.
We'll notify you at 80% and 95% of your allocated bandwidth. If you exceed the limit, we throttle to 10 Mbps rather than cut your connection. You can purchase additional bandwidth at $0.01/GB, or upgrade to a higher plan with a larger allocation.
Windows Server 2022 Standard is available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. A Windows licensing surcharge of $8/mo applies in addition to the base VPS cost. Starter plans are Linux-only due to minimum RAM requirements for Windows Server.
Our SLA covers network and hardware availability. If we fail to meet 99.99% monthly uptime, you receive service credits — 5% for each 30 minutes of excess downtime, up to 100% of that month's invoice. Credits are applied automatically, no ticket needed.
